Dr. Motsu Memorial District Hospital

It was established in the year 1965. During the period from 1965 to 2008 the hospital was known as “Civil Hospital Wokha” and in 2009 the Hospital management Society decided to rename the hospital as Dr. Motsuo memorial District Hospital in commemoration of the pioneer Dr. Motsuo the first doctor among the Lotha Community.

The hospital is totally functioning for the welfare of the public. The hospital provides 24×7 services and acts as a referral centre for all health units of Wokha district and meets medical needs and care among the public in Wokha region and nearby places.

The different government Schemes available in the hospital are:-

  • RKS (Rogi Kalyan Samiti).
  • JSSK (Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakam).
  • JSY (Janani Suraksha Yojana).
  • RSBY (Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana).
  • PMBJK (Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendra).

Dr.Motsuo memorial district hospital is a 50 bedded hospital and has a functioning Labour room operation theatre and Laboratory and has the following ward as below :-

At present we have 26 nurses in total, out of which:

Over all in charge of the hospital is medical superintendent who runs and managed the hospital with the help of all the sub-ordinate staffs as mentioned above.
